OPPO Find X8 Ultra hands-on image exposes new button

Summary: The upcoming OPPO Find X8 Ultra flagship appeared in a hands-on image. This image not only gives us a good look at the phone, and it’s odd-looking camera oreo, but a new button is shown too. That button is expected to replace the alert slider, and it sits on the left side of the device. The OPPO Find X8 Ultra is expected to launch next month in China. We’re not sure if a global model will be available or not.

The OPPO Find X8 Ultra is expected to become official next month, and as we’re waiting for that, a hands-on image leaked. This image not only gives us a good look at the phone but its new button too.

OnePlus recently confirmed that it will ditch the alert slider. Considering that OPPO and OnePlus usually follow in each other’s footsteps, the same will seemingly happen with OPPO’s devices.

The OPPO Find X8 and Find X8 Pro already introduced the camera button, well, it seems like OPPO is ditching the alert slider too. If you check out the image below, you’ll see the alleged OPPO Find X8 Ultra in all its glory.

You can clearly see that it has a flat frame on all sides, but that frame is very slightly rounded towards the edges. This image also shows the phone’s large camera oreo and a rather odd-looking separation on it.

You’ll notice a wavy line in the upper portion of the camera oreo, which separates one camera from the rest. That camera is almost certainly the main camera on the device, as a previous report suggested. It seems to be rather large.

In the lower portion, the dark portion, the remaining three cameras will sit. This phone is expected to have a quad camera setup, including two periscope telephoto cameras, an ultrawide unit, and a 1-inch type main camera, likely the Sony LYT-900 sensor.

The phone will use a flat display with thin bezels

We can’t really see the front side of the phone, but a flat display will be used, along with a centered display camera hole up top. The bezels around that display are expected to be very thin.

With that being said, you’ll also see the aforementioned physical button on the left-hand side. It’s placed in the upper portion of the frame, in line with the central part of the camera oreo. That button is expected to be customizable.

We’ll likely be able to assign a single-press action, a double-press action, a tap-and-hold action, and so on. We’re only guessing here, though, as OPPO hasn’t really confirmed anything thus far. The compact high-end smartphone, the OPPO Find X8s, is expected to launch alongside this handset next month. OPPO already confirmed some of the Find X8 Ultra specs.
