Fitbit is looking to keep things fresh with new features to help its existing wrist-worn wearables stand next to the Pixel Watch. That’s why, last year, the brand announced a new initiative called “Fitbit Labs.” As the name suggests, Fitbit offers experimental features to those who are signed up for this program. Now, Fitbit has reportedly started testing the Personalized Sleep Schedule Lab, which aims to get your sleep schedule on track.
Fitbit has started testing the new Personalized Sleep Schedule Lab
Yesterday, folks over at 9to5Google reported spotting a new Fitbit Labs test called Personalized Sleep Schedule in an updated support document. The latest experiment reportedly surveys users about their energy levels multiple times a day. Per the spotted document, Fitbit’s software will analyze users’ responses and offer an “evening sleep schedule” later in the day.
The new Personalized Sleep Schedule Lab is here to ensure that your energy levels are high the next day in case you’re feeling exhausted. The company details that each survey is nearly two minutes long and begins early in the morning. The “Morning Check-in” survey will reportedly question you about things that might hamper your upcoming night’s sleep.
Not to forget, you’ll have until 10 AM (your local time) to complete the survey, as it won’t be available all day long. The morning survey will be followed up by a series of three “Daytime” surveys, involving only one question that asks you to rate your energy levels.
Finally, there’ll be the “evening bedtime check-in” survey before 11 PM (your local time). Once you complete all the surveys, you’ll receive a personalized sleep schedule. Fitbit states that it will mention factors that could impact your night’s sleep in a two-minute evening survey.
Here’s how to check whether it is available for you
Since the Personalized Sleep Schedule is an experimental feature, not many of you might be able to access it. That’s not all; it’s unclear if or when the feature would make an official debut. If you want to give it a try, make sure to download and install the Fitbit app on your Android phone.
Next, sign up for the app using your Google account. If you’re eligible, you should see the “Fitbit Labs” in the “You” tab near the top. If not, Fitbit suggests trying again at a later date to access the Personalized Sleep Schedule Lab.
While Fitbit is testing new experiences for users, it hasn’t stopped adding new things to the existing smartwatches. Earlier this year, the brand added new games to the kids-centric Ace LTE smartwatch. Speaking of the smartwatch, Google’s latest update reportedly reduced the battery life of two of the popular Fitbit watches.
