Samsung’s OLED TV from last year, the S85D is currently discounted over at Amazon, providing for some pretty incredible pricing. All of the models are discounted (though, I believe Amazon has inflated the original price of the 77-inch since its regular price shows that it’s $900 more than the 83-inch model). Here’s how that pricing lines up:
- 55″ – $947 (reg. $1,697)
- 65″ – $997 (reg. $1,897)
- 77″ – $1,997 (reg. $3,397)
- 83″ – $1,997 (reg. $2,497)
Whether the 77-inch’s original price is inflated or not, it’s definitely a better value to get the 83-inch model, since it is the same price.
The S85D is a step down from Samsung’s top-tier S90D for 2024 (there are newer ones coming in the next few months, that Samsung announced at CES), and the biggest difference here is going to be screen sizes and pricing. The S90D does offer more screen sizes, and a slightly better processor. However, this is still an OLED TV, and Samsung is one of the best when it comes to OLED displays.

The S85D also has Dolby Atmos, but not Dolby Vision since Samsung does not support Dolby Vision on any of its products. It also has object-tracking sound lite, which gives you a really incredible sound experience.
All of this is powered by the NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor. Which uses 20 specialized networks, allowing this processor to drive the intuitive Smart TV hub, Dolby Atmos sound, and upscaled 4K content.
