
A 1:1 meeting between Korean startups hoping to attract local investment in Silicon Valley and global venture capital (VC) will be promoted.
The Consulate General of San Francisco (Consul General Lim Jung-taek) announced on the 18th that it will recruit Korean startups to participate in the “2025 K-Startup Global VC Private IR”.
K-startup Global VC Private IR is a project that connects Korean startups hoping to attract global investment with local VCs in Silicon Valley 1:1 and supports investment attraction through IR and networking.
Through a pilot operation last year, a total of 14 Korean startups and 8 venture capitals were connected for about two months and IR was conducted 25 times.
For 2024, Cosla Ventures, ESIF Capital, SOSV, DCM, G-Squared, Cultivation Ventures, Applied Ventures and LDV Partners participated.
This year’s Private IR will be joined by organizations such as the Consulate General and the U.S. Office of Korea Venture Investment (KVIC). A total of 30 startups will be selected first. Among global VCs, VCs who are interested in Korean startups or selected for the parent fund global fund investment business will be matched with startups, and then online and offline 1:1 IR and networking will be conducted for about three months from May this year.
Some startups will also be offered separate IR opportunities for local governments and VCs at events hosted by the Consulate General and Support Council in the second half of the year.
Start-ups who want to participate in the private IR can apply to the San Francisco Consulate General by the 18th via e-mail.
