Toyota Motor has unveiled its latest Kentucky-made luxury vehicle.
The Lexus ES was unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show in Shanghai, China — introducing the world to Lexus’s next generation of electrified vehicles.
The eighth generation of the vehicle is expected to make a phased rollout to various regions in mid-2026.
Lexus, the luxury vehicle arm of Toyota, produces the ES models at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky in Georgetown and a plant in Japan.
The vehicle features a new and spacious rear-seat option, a minimalistic outward appearance, more enhanced electronic control technologies, and new safety features.
The Lexus ES was displayed at the Shanghai Motor Show in Shanghai, China, April 23 – May 2 — introducing the world to Lexus’s next generation of electrified vehicles.

“The new ES was developed with the aim of redefining the sedan,” Lexus International Chief Engineer, Kohei Chiashi said in a statement.
The ES model has been a staple for the Lexus brand of vehicles since its debut in 1989. Now, as the Toyota brand of vehicles transition into the future with an emphasis on electrification the vehicle will be offered in both a hybrid and fully electric vehicle option, according to a statement.
Most recently, Toyota announced a $922 million investment to build an “advanced paint facility” and additional support for its electrification strategy at its Georgetown facility. This expansive project came on the heels of Toyota’s $1.3 billion for battery electric vehicle, or BEV production announcement from February 2024.
