These days, the most important part of any phone is the camera. And that is also the case on foldable devices like the new Razr. Motorola has made some interesting changes here to the cameras across the board. Like sticking with a telephoto on the Razr Plus, but doing ultrawide on the Razr and Razr Ultra. Let’s break it down.
The Razr sports a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 13-megapixel ultrawide and macro vision camera, and a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
The Razr Plus sports a 50-megapixel “high res” primary camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor, and a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
Finally, the Razr Ultra has a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide and macro lens, and a 50-megapixel selfie camera. This is the first ever flip phone to feature three 50-megapixel cameras.
moto ai brings huge enhancements to the Razr 2025 series
Of course, Motorola has included AI features with its cameras. The company says, “AI-powered Photo Enhancement Engine automatically delivers improved dynamic range, reduced noise and finer details.” It also includes a Signature Style feature that allows the AI to learn the user’s preferences. This is similar to the Photographic Styles that Apple launched on the iPhone last year.
The Razr Ultra also gets a few exclusive features like Group Shot. This will capture multiple frames within a second, and seamlessly blend them together, ensuring that everyone has their eyes open for a frameable shot.
Then there’s Action Shot. This is exactly what it sounds like: it gets you a blur-free photo of people when they’re on the move, and playing sports. It does this by adjusting the shutter speed automatically based on the different lighting conditions.
And finally, there’s Air Gesture, which is going to allow users to snap photos and control video recording without touching the display. You can use a simple hand gesture to start, stop, and pause video recording. This is especially useful with the foldable form factor of the Razr and the cover display. So you can prop it up somewhere and record a video or a vlog, hands-free.
