Huawei recently announced that it will host an “Innovative product launch” event on May 15 in Berlin. The official teaser for the event suggests that the company will introduce its new smartwatch range, presumably the Watch 5 and Watch Fit 4. So far, Huawei’s teaser has only indicated that the Watch 5 will have a few new health sensors on the right side.
However, some alleged press renders of the Huawei Watch 5 and Watch Fit 4 have leaked online, revealing their design ahead of the official launch. Additionally, leaks have revealed the color options and global pricing details of the Watch 5.
Watch 5 will offer a circular display like its predecessor, but with new health sensors
As you can see in these images, the Huawei Watch 5 will offer a design that will resemble its predecessor, including a circular display and a digital crown. However, the new wearable also appears to have an oval window on the right side that seems to be housing some unknown health sensors. Unfortunately, as of now, it’s not clear what the purpose of this sensor will be. It could just be a physical fingerprint sensor for security.
Huawei’s Watch 5 wearable will be available in multiple color models. The renders show the device in gold/beige, blue, white, green, and black color options. Huawei plans to offer the smartwatch with options for steel and silicone straps. There also seems to be a fabric-like strap design option.
Furthermore, the leaked press renders indicate that the Huawei Watch 5 will offer all notable health tracking features, including a SpO2 sensor, heart rate measurement, step counter, and calorie burned, among others. Huawei will provide the Watch 5 series in 42mm and 46mm size variants, suggests the source. Other specifications of the Watch 5 are under the curtain at the moment.
The Watch 5 series will succeed the Watch 4 series from 2023. The Watch GT 5 (review) and Watch GT 5 Pro (review) are among the most high-end smartwatches available from Huawei at the moment.
Huawei Watch Fit 4’s press renders reveal a largely unchanged design
Coming to the Huawei Watch Fit 4, it will offer a largely unchanged design from the Watch Fit 3. The upcoming wearable will offer a square display with a tad-thick top and bottom bezels. It will also get a digital crown to control the user interface and a customizable button. While the Watch Fit 3’s microphone sits flush with the physical buttons, the Watch Fit 4’s microphone protrudes out of the main square body. Complete specifications of the Watch Fit 4 are also not available yet.
As per reports, Huawei will offer the Watch 5 at a starting price tag of €499, which is roughly $566. Huawei could also launch the Watch 5 Pro and Watch Fit 4 Pro models at its mid-May event. We will find out more in the coming days, so stay tuned.
