CANTON, Miss. (WLBT) – Nissan is rethinking their rollout for electric vehicles in an effort to keep up with demand.
Amanda Plecas, Senior Manager of Manufacturing & Labor Communications with Nissan, tells 3 On Your Side that they plan to focus more on electric SUVs over sedans.
The move comes after listening to market data and customer feedback.
After a reassessment about what electric vehicles they offer, the decision to focus on SUVs was born.
Production at Nissan’s Canton plant will be centered around three fully electric SUV models, including for Nissan and INFINITI.
Manufacturing is set to start around mid-2028.
