Last October, Adobe joined the club of AI-powered video generator app makers by introducing Firefly. So far, the company’s AI-based video generation tools were only available to select users as a closed beta. Now, everyone can try Adobe’s AI video tool as the public beta is open. Adobe’s tool public beta offers multiple options to generate videos, including text-to-video, image-to-video, and Generative Extend. Firefly will compete against the likes of OpenAI’s Sora.
Everyone can now use Adobe’s Firefly in public beta to generate videos
Adobe’s Firefly AI video generator is now available in Adobe Premiere Pro, which offers the Generative Extend feature. This feature allows users to expand a clip with AI-generated video and audio that matches the original one. You can use this tool to extend the end or beginning of the video footage by two seconds. It is ideal for correcting errors in the final or middle sections of a video clip. Its primary purpose is to fix minor errors rather than to generate complete video footage.
Firefly is also available via the redesigned web application
You can access Adobe’s Firefly in public beta through the redesigned Firefly web application as well. It offers new image generation and translation capabilities and AI credit subscription tiers for creators. Adobe’s Generate Video feature consists of two main tools: text-to-video and image-to-video.
As their names indicate, “text-to-video” allows you to generate videos using a text description. As for the “image-to-video” functionality, it lets you add a reference image alongside a text prompt to provide a starting point for the video. The “Generate Video” feature has multiple options to refine or guide the results, such as adding styles, camera angles, motion, shooting distances, and others.
Two monthly Firefly subscription plans are on offer
Alongside the new Firefly web app, Adobe has also announced new subscription plans for the AI video generator. There are two plans, including Firefly Standard and Firefly Pro. All the plans offer unlimited access to image and vector features. Firefly’s Standard tier offers 2,000 video/audio credits monthly. It allows for up to 20 five-second 1080p video generations at $9.99 per month.
As for the Pro plan, it increases the limit to 7,000 monthly credits for $29.99/month. It allows you to generate up to 70 five-second full HD video clips. Adobe has also announced the upcoming launch of a new Firefly Premium plan for professionals looking to generate videos regularly. This will offer even more audio and video capacity for high-volume creators and teams.
