AH Real Deal: ASUS ROG Strix 26.5-inch 240Hz monitor falls to $569

ASUS makes some of the best gaming monitors around but they can be a little pricey, that is, unless you find one like this ROG Strix XG27AQDMG gaming monitor that Amazon currently has a deal on. Normally, this monitor retails for $649, but you can save 12% on it with Amazon’s discount and pick it up for $569 instead.

That’s a pretty good little discount if you’re looking to upgrade your monitor and pick up something nice. The ROG Strix XG27AQDMG comes with a 240Hz refresh rate panel, and it’s a 26.5-inch display in terms of size. The resolution is QHD, and the panel is a glossy OLED. The OLED is going to help with producing some really nice and deep inky blacks, with a contrast of vivid colors. That being said, the glossy finish on the panel will make it a little more prone to glare.

So you’ll want to consider where you set it up if you have the option. The flipside of this is that the monitor uses ASUS’s OLED anti-flicker technology, which is exclusive to its ROG brand. This is intended to reduce the amount of flicker when the refresh rate fluctuates. Resulting in an overall smoother visual experience during game sessions.

In addition to these features, this monitor actually has two really cool design traits that we love. The first is a compact monitor stand base. This doesn’t take up a lot of desk space, which ultimately means more room for your other stuff. The second is the slot on the front of the monitor stand base. This slot is designed to hold your phone horizontally as if it had a kickstand. It’s actually a pretty neat little bonus. Another great feature is the built-in custom heatsink to help reduce the risk of burnin.
