All carriers need this AT&T feature to identify robocalls

Don’t you hate when you get a call, and you have no idea if it’s a legitimate caller or a robocaller? This is something that people have to deal with, as they’re typically bombarded with call after call from numerous numbers. AT&T has a method to help you identify robocallers called Branded Call Display, and the company just made it better.

Branded Call Display is a feature that all carriers need to implement, as it can be beneficial to everyone. AT&T, in partnership with TransUnion, rolled out this feature for Android users. When you get a call from a legitimate business, you’ll see that business’ name and icon on your call screen. This will let you know that you’re being called by an actual business and not a robot on the other end.

Since companies need to specifically partner with AT&T to have their name show up, there’s no chance of imposters. It makes identifying robocallers much easier.

AT&T rolled out an update to Branded Call Display

AT&T released an update to Branded Call Display that will make it even easier to know whether or not you want to answer the phone. The information will also show you why the company is calling. You would see text like “refill reminder”, “delivery service”, or whatever. It gives you a snapshot of what the call will be about. So, even if you’re being contacted by a legitimate business, you’ll be able to see if it’s worth picking up the phone.

This new expansion is currently rolling out, but it’s still exclusive to Android users. That’s unfortunate, any person could stand to use this feature. James Garvert, the SVP of TruContact Communications Solutions at TransUnion, did state that this feature will launch to all users “over time.” So, iPhone users will be able to use this feature eventually. “Over time” is a pretty vague description, so there’s no telling when this will actually happen. Hopefully, other carriers adopt a service similar to this.
