Apex Police arrest six in connection with car break-ins near US-64 – WRAL News

Apex Police arrested six people Friday morning believed to be involved in a series of car break ins, near U.S. Highway 64 and Old Jenks Road.

When police were called, a group of people ran from the scene. The subsequent chase and capture brought a large police presence to the area during the morning rush hour.

Six suspects are in police custody, and the investigation is on-going.

Names of those arrested were not immediately released.

According to officers, Apex has seen an increase in car break-ins lately.

A WRAL News analysis of crime data from Raleigh, Durham and Rocky Mount shows reports of car thefts up there from 2023 to 2024 as well. An increase in available technology is boosting the trend.

The police department reminds people to always lock their cars and never leave valuables inside.
