Apple Eyes Market Expansion by Introducing TV Streaming Service to Android Phones – KAOHOON INTERNATIONAL

Apple just broke its own limit as the iPhone maker no longer restricts itself to iOS and MacOS platforms. Apple announced on Wednesday that its Apple TV+ application is now available on Android.

Apple rarely developed Android applications. Its latest one was Apple Music, which was released decades ago. Still, this move is the sign that shows Apple could expand its market significantly if this continues. According to Statcounter, although the iPhone has high users in the US, Android still claims a 72% market share on a global scale.

Nevertheless, Apple’s service continues to be the second largest business behind iPhone sales, with a $100 billion per year revenue rate last year. The broadcasts like Major League Soccer games and shows like Ted Lasso have made Apple TV+ very famous among Apple’s services. Nielsen estimated that Apple TV+ accounts for a small fraction of total American TV watching.

The customer can now download the Apple TV+ on the Google Play app store and arrange a payment with their Google accounts. Apple did not disclose the details regarding its agreement for revenue share, but both tech giants usually take about 15% of billings from streaming operators that provide services in their app stores.
