Apple seemingly has a high sales goal for the iPhone 16 series. Based on the latest report, the company is planning to sell 100 million iPhone 16 series handsets. This information comes from Taiwan.

Apple sets a high sales goal for the iPhone 16 series smartphones

Well, to be more accurate the company is planning to sell somewhere between 90 and 100 million iPhone 16 units. TSMC is expected to manufacture 100 million Apple A18 chipsets in order for that to happen.

Just to be clear, when we say Apple A18 chips, we mean both of its models. Apple is rumored to use the A18 chip in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are tipped to utilize the Apple A18 Pro.

We’re not really sure what the difference will be between those two chips, though. The ‘Pro’ model will obviously be more powerful in some way, but we still don’t have the details. It could have something to do with extra AI capabilities or something.

The Apple A18 chips could end up featuring a larger die size for AI

Now, previous reports said that the Apple A18 and A18 Pro will feature a larger die size. Why? Well, so that the component can carry a larger Neural Engine for AI. There is one drawback, though, based on new information.

The Apple A18 and A18 Pro could continue to utilize an unchanged six-core configuration that the Apple A17 Pro offered. Why is that a bad thing? Well, we may not see any improvements in the graphics department. Granted, the Apple A17 Pro is already immensely powerful in that regard, so… that may not be needed.

The new iPhones won’t be all that much different from their predecessors, design-wise. Sure, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will have a new/old camera design on the back, but other than that, they’ll all be quite similar to their predecessors. The ‘Pro’ models will get larger displays and thinner bezels, though.
