Apple has officially launched the 2025 Swift Student Challenge – AppleInsider

Swift Student Challenge 2025 is now open

Apple’s Swift Student Challenge is officially open, with participants vying for the top prize — an all-inclusive three-day trip to Apple Park.

Just as it did in 2024, Apple will select 350 winners in total and, recognize 50 of them as Distinguished Winners for their “outstanding submissions.” Distinguished Winners will need to demonstrate “excellence in innovation creativity, social impact, or inclusivity.”

All 350 Challenge winners will receive a year of membership in the Apple Developer Program, a complimentary voucher to take the App Development with Swift certification exam, and a special gift from Apple.

Distinguished winners will be rewarded with a three-day visit to Apple Park in Cupertino. The trip includes travel, lodging, time with Apple engineers, and “a host of unforgettable experiences.”

There are several eligibility requirements. Specifically, challengers can’t be employed as professional developers and must be over 13 years old in the United States or older in certain countries. They must be registered with a developer account and fit one of the requirements to be defined as a student.

Apple encourages students to explore its learning resources to create an interactive scene of their choice within an app playground that can be experienced in three minutes. Submissions are evaluated based on criteria such as excellence, innovation, creativity, social impact, and inclusivity.

Three winners of the 2024 Swift Student Challenge went on to be profiled by Apple.

Apple launched the Swift Student Challenge in 2020 to inspire young developers to learn, create, and participate in the development community.
