Apple Intelligence release date tipped by popular Apple insider

Apple announced the iPhone 16 series in early September with the most hyped Apple Intelligence. The Cupertino giant then said it would roll out the Apple Intelligence to iPhone, iPad, and Mac starting this month. That said, we are already a week into October but there are no signs of rollout yet. However, we may have a potential release date of Apple Intelligence now, courtesy of popular Apple insider Mark Gurman.

Apple could release Apple Intelligence on October 28

According to Gurman’s recent Power On Newsletter, Apple Intelligence might be available for the general public starting October 28 as part of the iOS 18.1 update. Talking about the delay, Gurman says “Apple is taking its time with the rollout to ensure that major bugs are eliminated and it can support all the new traffic on its AI cloud servers.”

Besides the release date of Apple Intelligence, he mentions that the first rollout phase will include a limited set of features. Initially, Apple could include enhanced writing tools that will let you rewrite, summarize, and proofread texts. You can also expect notification summaries for different apps like Messages and Mail. On top of that, a “Clean Up” tool might be available in the Photos app to remove unnecessary objects from images using generative AI.

The second rollout phase for Apple Intelligence might start alongside the iOS 18.2 release. You’re likely to see ChatGPT integration and Genmoji generation features with it. For the uninitiated, Genmoji will allow you to make custom emojis with the help of generative AI.

The new Siri may not become a reality until March next year

Gurman further mentions that Apple Intelligence will supercharge Siri with the power to control apps. However, that won’t happen until the release of iOS 18.4 which is rumored for March next year. If you are unaware, Apple is redesigning Siri to give it a completely new avatar.

The new Siri will be able to carry out different actions when you ask it. Meaning, you’ll be able to ask it to find certain photos and videos from your device. That’s not all, it can go through your data and provide answers to all your queries. Besides the iPhone 16 series, Apple Intelligence will also be available on the iPhone 15 Pro models. Moreover, Apple Intelligence is currently available for beta testing in iOS 18.1.

In the recent past, we have also come across some reports that Apple Intelligence could boost iPhone 16 series sales. So, it is safe to say that Apple is taking all its time to make it perfect before releasing it to the public. Time will tell if it manages to garner users’ attention.
