The next smartphones from Apple are allegedly going to undergo a redesign, according to leaks. In particular, the iPhone 17 Pro will reportedly look significantly different from its predecessors.
It has been rumored that Apple is moving towards an entirely new look for the upcoming iPhone lineup.
This latest leak comes alongside a recent report from sources that talked about the iPhone 17 Air also getting a redesign from Apple.
Apple iPhone 17 Pro Series Redesign Is Coming
Based on the new render shared by a tech influencer on X, @asherdipps, the “alleged finalized design” of the iPhone 17 Pro has been leaked.
In the front profile of the smartphone, it seems like nothing has changed, as it still features the rounded corners for the screen, an almost bezel-less display, and the Dynamic Island that comes standard for modern iPhones.
However, the rear shows significant change due to its redesign, particularly as its rear camera takes up the entire upper third of the iPhone 17 Pro’s back.
Strange New Look for the iPhone 17 Pro
Instead of the flash being confined to the rear camera array, it is now on the other corner of the iPhone 17 Pro’s back, and it is joined by other sensors on the rear like the LiDAR.
The rear camera array that now takes up the entire rear space also protrudes from the back, covered by glass like its predecessor, and this strange new look has been compared to the Pixel series’ rear.
The iPhone Series Is Changing
Previous reports revealed that the iPhone release for 2025 will bring a major revamp to the series. Apple has continuously released iPhones yearly for updates and changes, but the iPhone 17 series for 2025 is said to be a special release due to the changes that the whole lineup will exhibit.
The iPhone 17 series is said to receive the A19 chipset series, which has been described as the fastest and top-performing chip once. And while it remains unknown if Apple will continue giving the iPhone Pro series the “Pro” chipset version, it is expected that the flagship smartphones will get the more powerful ones.
This will also be the first iPhone series in a long time that will get an additional model, as Apple is set to release the iPhone 17 Air. Despite the iPhone 17 Air stealing the spotlight in these early leaks, the iPhone 17 Pro series will still make a name for its own, with Apple giving it a major redesign that changes the entire rear camera array.
