Apple Launches AI-Enhanced iPad Mini with A17 Pro – Yahoo Finance

CUPERTINO, Calif. Tuesday saw tech behemoth Apple (AAPL, Financial) revealing a new iPad mini with AI in mind. Backed by a robust A17 Pro processor and 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display, the latest iteration of the iPad mini hopes to offer customers a significantly improved experience.

Perhaps the biggest plus point is it’s designed to fit incredibly well with Apple Intelligence, arguably the company’s biggest catalyst. Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, stated, “With the powerful A17 Pro chip, faster connectivity, and support for Apple Pencil Pro, the new iPad mini delivers the full iPad experience in our most portable design at an incredible value.”

The device costs around $499 for the 128GB variant, and the new iteration of the iPad is still in pre-order only for now and will likely be sold beginning October 23. With the first phase of Apple Intelligence scheduled to be released with iOS 18.1 on October 28, this launch effectively aligns with the general progression towards AI. Along with other AI-driven technologies, the upgrade will offer a new-look Siri interface and fresh writing tools. Also, December will offer more advanced features; with non-English upgrades scheduled by March next year.
