CUPERTINO, CA, – In his latest Power On newsletter, prominent industry analyst Mark Gurman claims the iPhone SE 4 will launch “this week.” The analyst previously claimed that the iPhone SE 4 will launch next week.
The latest report confirms the prior news and sticks to the launch time frame. Based on his words, Gurman is sure of the launch, and if the news has any haft to it, we might see a completely redesigned iPhone SE 4 as soon as this week, potentially in the middle of the week, Wccftech reported.
Apple has not sent out any event invites so far, which means that there is a possibility that the iPhone SE 4 will be announced via press release. Apple had previously launched the M4 MacBook Pro models via a press release, as the devices only come with internal upgrades, while the design of the devices remained the same.
However, it would make sense for Apple to host a dedicated event for the iPhone SE 4 as it will come with a completely redesigned chassis. However, it is a familiar iPhone 16-like design, which could be why the company is opting for a press release rather than a dedicated event.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature a design similar to that of the iPhone 14 or iPhone 16, depending on Apple’s decision to either go with a small notch or the Dynamic Island. While the design and form factor are pretty familiar, it is worth noting that the internals would be on par with the latest iPhone 16 models.
We have previously reported that the SE 4 could house the company’s custom A18 chip, which is necessary for the company’s Apple Intelligence features, coupled with 8GB of RAM. The device will also feature a 6.1-inch OLED display instead of an LCD, a USB-C port instead of Lightning, and an upgraded camera sensor at the back.
Gurman also shared that the iPhone SE 4 could be priced a little higher than the current SE 3. It makes sense for Apple to increase the price with the changes it is bringing to the lineup, but it has to keep it at bay if it wants the device to sell well.
Currently, the price of the device starts at $429, but based on the latest information, the price could jump to as much as $499, which is still a great option considering the upgrades.
