Apple Martin is reflecting on her life in the public eye.
During a chat with Interview magazine published on Wednesday, April 2, the 20-year-old shared that she read negative comments about herself after appearing at Chanel’s haute couture show in 2023.
“Then I quickly realized why everybody has always said, ‘Don’t do it,'” she said. “Because even if you see a million positive things, there can be one thing that absolutely wrecks you.”
Apple continued, “So, I’ve stopped now and I avoid it like the plague, because I know myself and I know that if I see stuff that isn’t true and that’s really upsetting to me, I’m going to be like, ‘Oh my god, I should never go out in public again.'”
The Vanderbilt University student added: “All I can do is just be the best that I can be and be with the people I love and not read random, crazy conspiracies.”

The daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, Apple stepped out for Chanel’s runway show during Paris Fashion Week in January 2023, marking her Fashion Week debut.
She sat front row for the star-studded affair, outfitted in a black-and-white checked dress-and-blazer ensemble by the fashion house. She was joined by seatmates Lucy Boynton and Sadie Sink, who were also decked out in Chanel.

Fashion journalist and TV personality Derek Blasberg posted some behind-the-scenes shots of the then 18-year-old‘s outing on Instagram and a caption that paid tribute to the late Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld, who once predicted Martin’s fashion future.
“Karl Lagerfeld met Apple Martin when she was 4 years old and declared that one day she’d be a Chanel girl. It happened today!” Blasberg, 42, wrote.

Shortly after attending the Chanel show, Apple toldVogue that she doesn’t consider herself to be “super trendy.”
“I love sweaters and oversized cardigans, loafers, and a good pair of comfy Levis,” she said. “The most important thing for me is feeling like my genuine self when wearing an outfit; I’m aiming for a mix of classic ’90s and cool grandpa.”
