Apple releases iOS 18.1 beta 7 as public launch nears – 9to5Mac


iOS 18.1 will be released to everyone in just two weeks. In the meantime, beta testing continues. iOS 18.1 beta 7 is now available to developer beta testers, coming just one week after the release of beta 5.

iOS 18.1 beta 7 features the build number 22B5075a. The update is currently available only to developer beta testers, with a public beta expected to launch later this week. iOS 18.1 is supported on all iPhones compatible with iOS 18, but Apple Intelligence features are limited to the following devices:

  • iPhone 15 Pro
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max
  • iPhone 16 
  • iPhone 16 Plus
  • iPhone 16 Pro
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max

iOS 18.1 introduces the initial batch of Apple Intelligence features, including Writing Tools for rewriting, proofreading, and summarizing text. The Siri design has been fully revamped and now includes the option to type your queries. The Mail app gains new functionalities such as message summaries, priority sorting, and Smart Reply.

Other updates include a new Focus mode called “Reduce Interruptions,” the new Clean Up feature in Photos, Notification Summaries, and more. You can find the full details on what’s new in iOS 18.1 in my dedicated guide. According to Bloomberg, Apple is aiming to release iOS 18.1 on October 28.

  • iPadOS 18.1 beta 7
  • visionOS 2.1 beta 5
  • tvOS 18.1 beta 5
  • watchOS 11.1 beta 5
