Apple releases RC updates for visionOS 2.1, watchOS 11.1, tvOS 18.1 – 9to5Mac

Today alongside RC versions of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, Apple has also debuted RC updates for its non-AI platforms. Apple Intelligence is limited to the company’s three flagship products, but there are still updates coming for the Vision Pro, Apple TV, and Watch. Here’s what to expect.

What to expect from the new Apple RC updates

Apple has released a variety of betas today, with the most exciting no doubt being set for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

However, RC updates for Apple’s other platforms include:

  • visionOS 2.1 RC
  • tvOS 18.1 RC
  • HomePod 18.1 RC

watchOS 11.1 should be coming in the next day or so as well.

Today’s beta versions are expected to launch publicly in a wide release next week.

Unfortunately, these updates have been exceptionally light on user-facing new features. Apple’s engineering teams have clearly been prioritizing the updates coming for iPhone, iPad, and Mac instead.

The RC (release candidate) versions should hopefully perform better and be generally more bug-free than previous betas.

Assuming no critical issues are discovered, Apple is expected to ship these exact software versions to all users publicly next week. However, there’s always a chance a new RC build will need to be released later this week.
