People with older iPhones who still use regular wired earbuds and headphones will need to go to Amazon to buy an adapter for their phone. The Apple Store in Canada appears to be sold out, and reports from the U.S. say the same thing about that store.
Apple used to sell its Lightning adapter for $10, and it stills sells the USB-C version for people with an iPhone 15 or newer, but anyone with an iPhone 14 or older will need to pick up a Lightning version elsewhere.
On Amazon, there are a few different options. Some are small and flimsy, like the Apple one, and those are pretty cheap at around $10 for two units, but if you do want a tougher one, there is a nice braided UGreen option for $22.
With the removal of the Lightning headphone adapter, there are few Apple first-party cables and accessories left in the Apple Store, signifying the end of the Lightning jack. Below is a list of the remaining Lighting accessories.
- USB-C to Lightning cable – 1m $25, 2m $39
- Lightning to Digital AV (HDMI) – $65
- USB-C to Lightning adapter – $39
- Lightning to USB cable – $25
- EarPods with Lightning connector – $35
- Lightning to USB 3 adapter – $49
- Lightning to VGA adapter – $65
- Lightning to USB adapter – $39
- Lightning to SD card reader – $39
A few Lightning accessories from third-party companies and refurbished AirPods still use the Lightning connector.
