Apple TV+ Is A Raging Success, With A New Report Estimating That The Company’s Original Content For A Single Show Generated More Than $600 Million – Wccftech

There were warning signs surrounding Apple TV+, with an earlier report stating that producing original content caused an expenditure of around $20 billion, with the technology giant circumventing to find ways to make this business sustainable. With popular shows like Severance estimated to cost $20 million per episode, it was clear that Apple was bleeding money. However, separate data reveals that the streaming service’s inception has been a massive success thanks to the arrival of original content, with one of them already having generated more than $600 million for the Cupertino firm.

Ted Lasso, an Apple TV+ original, has crossed the $600 million mark, with Severance’s season 1 reported to have made more than $200 million

As reported by Deadline, research firm Parrot Analytics has provided some impressive figures for Apple TV+’s original shows in terms of financial success. However, AppleInsider has hinted that there is no guarantee that these numbers are legit, and since the company’s only revenue stream is through subscription, of which there is no public information available, we should treat these earnings with a pinch of salt. With Ted Lasso already running for three seasons, with a fourth one teased, the show is said to have made $609.4 million for Apple TV+.

Severance, which recently made season 2 available to stream, was apparently a commercial success when season 1 came out, as it is already reported to have made $200 million for the company. Slow Horses has earned $184.8 million, while ‘The Morning Show,’ which Apple was said to have incurred a $50 million bill that includes paying Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston $1 million per episode in the first season, has made an impressive $299.4 million.

These figures might be synonymous with Apple’s trillion-dollar status, but there are a multitude of variables that have yet to be considered. For instance, Parrot Analytics has not provided a breakdown of any production or marketing costs, and given that there is no concrete subscriber information for Apple TV+, there is no way of knowing if the aforementioned earnings are true. Then again, Parrot Analytics has its sources, and if our readers have something to add to this, the comment section is available at all times.
