Apple's foldable phone is approaching an important milestone

Apple’s foldable device is coming… slowly but surely. There’s no doubt that Apple is taking its sweet time with its foldable phone, but the company wants to make sure that it reaches a high standard of quality. Well, Apple’s foldable phone could be reaching a very important milestone, and this relates to the display.

The display is arguably the most important part of the foldable phone. It’s literally the make-or-break aspect, so whatever company designs the display will have a massive impact on the overall experience. So, it makes sense that Apple wants to wait until it can get it just right. Not only that, but Apple wants to maintain the notion that its products can do no wrong.

Apple’s foldable phone is nearing another milestone

Right now, Apple is looking for a supplier for its displays, and we know that two frontrunners are Samsung and LG. These are two top display manufacturers, and their screens live in millions of phones around the world. However, Apple has a set of strict regulations regarding its displays that any supplier would need to follow.

Well, according to a new report, it looks like the suppliers that Apple is eyeing are getting close to that standard. This means that we should soon see some actual tangible progress on the company’s first foldable device. We’ve been waiting for this to happen for a few years at this point. Companies like Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus, Google, Vivo, Motorola, and others have run away with the foldable phone form factor and made something rather amazing.

One of the issues that these companies (well, all companies making foldable phones) are experiencing is eliminating the crease. This is something that Apple wants to solve before it launches its first foldable phone. So, the company wants to be the first one to claim to have no crease.

That’ll definitely make people reconsider getting the latest Galaxy Z Fold at that point. This could be crucial for Apple’s foldable iPhone, as Samsung is the only option available in most markets. So, if Apple can make its foldable look good compared to Samsung’s, there’s no doubt that it will swiftly own the foldable phone market.
