Aral pulse taps Siemens to monitor EV charging operations in Germany – PetrolPlaza.com

300 charging stations across the country will be controlled by the company and provide dynamic charging management.

Aral pulse has partnered with Siemens Smart Infrastructure for real-time monitoring of its electric vehicle (EV) charging operations across Germany.

The company has been awarded a five-year contract to deploy Electrification X from its Xcelerator portfolio, allowing the retailer to centrally operate, optimize and secure charging stations. This involves the installation of substations to power charging infrastructure for electric cars and trucks that have an output of up to 400 kilowatts (kW).

“To make charging as quick as refueling vehicles with conventional fuels, we’re investing in ultra-fast chargers with outputs of up to 400 kW. But the chargers alone are not enough. Upgrades also require an efficient and reliable connection to the power grid,” said Alexander Junge, member of the Aral AG Management Board in charge of the E-mobility division.

The company will be able to monitor all locations in real-time through a dashboard providing insights into all safety-related messages from the individual stations. Dynamic load management and remote control can avoid potential capacity limitations by the distribution system operator which could result in costly violations.

Furthermore, the installation of 350 additional digital substations at Aral’s service stations in Germany is already underway.
