On the evening of January 6 NVIDIA officially announced the GeForce RTX 50-Series GPUs, and following not long after ASUS announced its full lineup. Unveiled during CES this week, ASUS confirms it will have GeForce RTX 50-Series GPUs coming in the near future. According to the company, it will have all four of the graphics cards that NVIDIA has announced so far. This includes the RTX 5090, the RTX 5080, the RTX 5070 Ti, and the RTX 5070.
ASUS will have GPUs available across its ROG, TUF Gaming, and Prime families, although, not all GPU models will be available in each family. For example, the ROG Astral series will only feature options for the GeForce RTX 5090 and GeForce RTX 5080. However, it will have several options between those two GPU models. Including LC and OC editions of each. Meanwhile, the TUF Gaming series will feature OC and non-OC editions of all four GPUs.
ASUS will also be releasing four GPUs in the ROG Strix series, which includes OC and non-OC editions of the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and GeForce RTX 5070. Lastly, the Prime family will feature three GPUs. The GeForce RTX 5080, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, and GeForce RTX 5070. OC and non-OC editions will be available in this family as well.
Two of the GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs from ASUS will have four fans
While NVIDIA has gone and done away with big visible fans on the front of the card for its RTX 50-series Founders Edition models, ASUS is going the other way and adding more. As part of its RTX 50-series announcement, the company has revealed that the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 and GeForce RTX 5080 will both feature a fourth fan to help with airflow.
The company says these will be its first quad-fan GPUs in the ROG family. ASUS says that adding a fourth fan to these cards has allowed it to pack the heatsink fins closer together. This resulted in the overall better-cooling potential of the GPU so it runs more optimally. Specifically, it says the GPUs have 20% more airflow than previous model GPUs.
ASUS has not announced pricing or availability yet
ASUS hasn’t officially mentioned anything about pricing or availability yet. However, NVIDIA has mentioned that its Founders GeForce RTX 5090 and GeForce RTX 5080 GPUs would be going up for pre-order on January 31. So there is a chance ASUS will follow this schedule. The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and GeForce RTX 5070 are another story. Not to mention ASUS may not follow NVIDIA’s release schedule at all and all the cards could come out even later.
Then there’s also the matter of price. While the GeForce RTX 5080 will be $999 and the GeForce RTX 5090 will be $1,999, these are for the Founders cards. NVIDIA’s Founders cards are usually cheaper than the options from its partners. So the models from ASUS will likely cost more than their Founders counterparts.
