ASUS' new ROG 4K Swift OLED monitor is ideal for gaming & work

ASUS has shown off a brand-new monitor that can be used for both work and play. Although most ROG products are made for gaming, the new one is great for professional photo and video editing as well. We’re talking about the ROG Swift PG27UCDM, ASUS’ first 240Hz 4K OLED monitor, although pricing and availability details will likely be revealed at CES 2025.

ASUS confirms ROG 4K Swift OLED monitor tech specs ahead of CES 2025

The company advertises the monitor as 27 inches, but the screen is actually 26.5 inches. It uses a 4K QD-OLED panel (resolution of 3840 x 2160 px, 166 ppi) with a refresh rate of 240Hz. The monitor has 10 bits of color depth and 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. It also supports HDR10, Dolby Vision, and True Black 400.

The gaming nature of the monitor is represented by its response time of just 0.03 ms. Your actions will appear instantly on the screen, without any noticeable delay. However, the ROG Swift also boasts a Delta E

According to ASUS, the monitor integrates fourth-generation QD-OLED technology. This gives it a longer lifespan compared to previous-generation OLEDs. As for connectivity, there is support for DisplayPort 2.1a that eliminates the need for compression technologies—such as Display Stream Compression—to enjoy the highest image quality, refresh rate, and resolution. You’ll also find an HDMI 2.1 port.

Smart features to increase its lifespan

The monitor receives power through a USB-C port and supports a tripod. It has ASUS OLED Care Pro technology built in, which takes smart steps to make the monitor last longer. For example, it uses a Neo proximity sensor that turns off the screen when you are not present. This prevents potential image burn-in from prolonged fixed images. There’s also the OLED Anti-Flicker 2.0 technology that reduces VRR flicker due to frame rate variations by 20%.

We’ll have to wait until CES 2025 to find out the price of the latest ASUS ROG Swift OLED monitor. However, given its powerful tech specs, it probably won’t be cheap.
