Apple already makes its own official iPhone cases. But if you’re looking for more options, Beats has unveiled two additional new iPhone 16 cases. This was initially reported by the folks over at MacRumors. The new cases come in Sunrise Pink and Twilight Blue finishes, adding to the previous collection.
More color options
The new Beats cases are available for the entire iPhone 16 series. This includes the base iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Regardless of the iPhone model you choose or the color you opt for, they are priced the same at $49 per case. They are also now available for purchase directly from Apple’s website.
The launch of these new colorways isn’t the first time Beats created cases for the iPhone. The Apple-owned subsidiary actually surprised many at the iPhone 16’s launch. In addition to the official Apple-made cases, Beats joined in with their own cases. One thing to note is that these new cases are slightly different in design than the previous models.
A slightly different look
Unlike the models that launched alongside the iPhone 16 series, the new cases feature the Beats logo placed prominently on the back. They also do away with the MagSafe alignment guides. Other than that, feature-wise they are essentially the same. They are made with a polycarbonate back with flexible sidewalls. This is designed for better shock absorption.
They also have a glossy exterior with a scratch-resistant coating, and a soft microfiber interior to prevent scratches to your phone. The new cases also support MagSafe and the new Camera Control button. This is the same as the official Apple cases where the Camera Control cutout has a sapphire crystal button with a conductive layer.
This helps create a more flushed look to the case, versus third-party cases that might simply opt to just leave a hole for Camera Control. Having experienced both styles, neither is necessarily better and it really boils down to your aesthetic preferences.
About Beats
Beats made a name for themselves back in the day for making and selling headphones. The company was founded by hip-hop legend and music producer Dr. Dre alongside Jimmy Iovine, a record producer who also co-founded Interscope Records.
Apple later acquired Beats back in 2014, which honestly came as quite a surprise to everyone. The company has since kept the Beats branding and continues to churn out headphones and earbuds under the same brand. Apple later expanded on Beats’ offerings, which now include iPhone cases.
