This Land Rover Discovery Sport was snatched off a UK street in a growing issue sweeping the nation.

Police believe the car was illegally imported into the country by a Russian gang involved in exporting stolen cars.

The Land Rover was discovered, in the country five time zones over from the UK, when the supposed new owner of the car tried to register the vehicle.

The black crossover was tracked down by Interpol.

Authorities were able to match the identification numbers on this Land Rover to the one stolen in the UK.

“Employees of the regional Interpol unit confirmed that the car had been stolen from a British resident,” the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Irkutsk said.

“The law enforcement authorities of the United Kingdom had initiated a criminal case on this fact, and the car itself was declared wanted through Interpol channels.”

Russian authorities have said the vehicle will be returned to its owner in the UK.

WHAT A STEAL

This concerning issue has become a rising problem in the country as some Range Rover owners have been forced to take extra steps to protect their cars.

The Range Rover, produced by Land Rover, was crowned as the most stolen car in the UK in both 2021 and 2022.

British gangs have stolen these luxury cars in the UK and sent them to criminals in Russia.

Police made a shocking discovery in Essex when they emptied a shipping container and found three stolen Range Rovers, The Sun previously reported.

These vehicles had been wrapped up in mattresses and rugs.

Cops later found Bentley, Audi, and Toyota cars worth £250,00 in another shipping container.

A £300,000 Rolls-Royce was also discovered among these stolen vehicles.

Criminal gangs have been able to cash in from these luxury cars and their parts.

Some Land Rover owners have taken measures into their own hands by installing their own security measures.

These have included buying metal poles that pop around a car or installing automatic bollards in their driveways.
