UW continued to write on its website that both meetings were previously announced as part of a contract for games to be played from 2024 to 2028. The five-year extension of the rivalry was part of an agreement reached before UW departed the Pac-12 for the Big 10 with an eye to continuing the Apple Cup for the foreseeable future.

Washington, despite losing to Washington State in 2024, leads the all-time rivalry with 76 wins to just 34 for the Cougars and six total ties.

“The 2026 game will be played on Sept. 5, 2026, at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium,” UW wrote on its website. “The following year, the Huskies and Cougars will play at GESA Field in Pullman on Sept. 18, 2027.”

The date of the 2028 Boeing Apple Cup game at Husky Stadium will be determined at a later date, according to UW.
