At CES 2025, the renowned accessory maker ESR introduced its latest innovation: the Geo Digital Pencil for iPad. This stylus features advanced capabilities at an impressively affordable price of just $29.
A Connected Stylus with “Find My” Compatibility
It may come as a surprise to some, but ESR has already been in the market with an Apple Pencil-like stylus that is both practical and economical. Building on its success, ESR has launched a new generation called the Geo Digital Pencil. This device offers a host of features that could rival the Apple Pencil Pro, which is priced around $150.
The standout feature of this new stylus is its compatibility with Apple’s Find My network. It can be located through the corresponding app if ever lost. ESR has enhanced its utility by integrating a speaker that emits a sound to help users locate it more easily—a feature not available in Apple’s offerings.
The Geo Digital Pencil ensures smooth and precise writing with several essential functions, such as palm rejection to prevent unwanted marks during writing or drawing, tilt sensitivity, and a fine tip measuring 1.5 mm.
Although it attaches magnetically to the side of the iPad, it does not support wireless charging. Instead, ESR has equipped the stylus with USB-C fast charging, allowing a full charge in just 30 minutes for up to 12 hours of continuous use. This should be more than adequate for most users. The stylus also features a customizable shortcut button and communicates the battery level via Bluetooth, simplifying power management.
Available in three colors—pink, white, and black—the Geo Digital Pencil is compatible with modern iPads starting from the 2018 iPad Pro. The only exception is the iPad 10, although the previous model remains compatible.
Availability
The Geo Digital Pencil stands out for its unmatched value at less than $30, compatibility with Find My, long battery life, and choice of colors. In terms of accuracy, it is expected to perform at least as well as its predecessor. For regular use, it should meet the needs of many users, especially those who do a lot of writing. The Geo Digital Pencil is currently available on Amazon US and is expected to be available in other countries soon.
