Car displays are getting a major upgrade, thanks to Samsung

While Apple showcased this type of display on its iPad, Samsung was the main company that supplied the displays.

Well, it looks like Samsung sees the utility in tandem OLED. The company is looking to implement it into more places, and a growing market is about to get some much better displays.

Samsung wants to use tandem OLED for more car displays

Car displays are getting bigger and smarter. This is something we all seen coming, as displays in general have gotten bigger over the years. Smartphone displays have grown from 3 inches to nearly 7 inches. Well, car displays are playing a bigger part in the driving experience, and this is why companies are making them better.

Enter Samsung. The company wants to improve car displays by using the impressive tandem OLED technology. In case you don’t know tandem OLED takes two panels and stacks them on top of one another. This leads to an overall brighter panel. Along with that, they’re more durable. So, this tech is pretty enticing.

Samsung hopes to increase production of these displays for more premium cars. We don’t know which companies Samsung will target, but it did previously provide tandem OLED displays for Audi in the past. It did so in limited quantities. We’re sure that Audi will see more tandem OLED displays in its cars.

Along with increasing the production, Samsung also wants to improve the technology. This way, it can provide a better experience for drivers. Along with that, it seems that Samsung is also developing flexible tandem OLED technology for more premium cars.
