At the Red Dot Design Award Gala, Fisker participates and receives the prestigious international award for the Best Electric Vehicle of 2023.
Today, Fisker announced their attendance at the Red Dot Design Award Gala where they accepted the internationally renowned award. Fisker received the prestigious Red Dot Product Design Award 2023 for Best Electric Vehicle. The gala took place earlier this week on June 19th in Essen, Germany. The Fisker design team was present to celebrate and personally accept the award.
The Red Dot is the distinction for high design quality. The international jury awards the coveted seal of quality only to products that demonstrate outstanding design. In 2023, the award presented the Fisker Ocean electric vehicle in the category “Cars and Motorcycles.” The all-electric Fisker Ocean received the award for its attractive aesthetics, excellent functionality, and user-friendliness.
Why the Fisker Ocean Won
Fisker designed the Ocean SUV with the aim of creating a highly sustainable vehicle. A carbon-neutral factory builds it. Bio-based and recycled materials make up over 50 kg (110 pounds) of the car’s mass. The aerodynamic silhouette and low, wide stance contribute to efficiency in terms of design. Sustainably sourced materials tailor the interior, and the “SolarSky” integrates solar cells into the panoramic glass power roof, providing up to 2,400 km (1,500 miles) of range per year. The concept of Fisker Ocean convinces with its sustainability-focused design, which the company has consistently implemented through creative detail solutions.
Evaluation by Global Design Experts
Fisker entered their iconic electric SUV into the global competition. Then, more than 50 design experts from around the world assessed the Fisker Ocean electric SUV. Experts carefully judged the Fisker Ocean in four crucial design aspects, comparing it to other electric vehicles. They were product function, aesthetics, ease of use, and responsibility/sustainability. The international design experts proclaimed the Fisker Ocean as the Best Electric Vehicle 2023. Since its inception in 1955, this award has been one of the most coveted seals of quality for outstanding design.
