Chattanooga's car enthusiasts gather for Chip's Cars & Coffee – Local 3 News

Besides the Motorcar Festival in town, another event for car enthusiasts took place Sunday morning in Chattanooga.

From supercars to trucks and bikes, if it has wheels it was more than welcome at Chip’s Cars & Coffee.

“It just gives everybody an opportunity to come out and show their stuff off, have a good time, a lot of people come out here and make new friends,” said Chip Pollard, event organizer.

Pollard was inspired to start his own Cars & Coffee event, Sunday being his fifth show of the year. He says it allows himself and others to talk about their treasured vehicles.

“2001 Jeep Cherokee, it’s normally in the World of Wheels, we go to shows all over, it’s my favorite vehicle that I own currently,” said Pollard.

Pollards unconditional love for his jeep is a common sentiment each attendee shares about their own cars.

“It’s one of those things that’s a pride and joy and you want to keep it and invest it and have a good time with it,” said attendee, Jeremy Edwards.

Edwards showed us his supercharged 408 horsepower 2001 Honda S2000 with a custom interior.

“Lets us take our mind off what’s going on around us, and we can all just get together, have a good time and enjoy the day, talk about cars and what’s going on with our lives and be happy with it,” said Edwards.

We jumped from one convertible to another and spoke with Ryan Graham. He owns a 2000 Mazda NB Miata. Graham says it’s the first car he has ever owned, buying it at 18 years old. He tells us it’s nothing special, but it’s clearly special to him.

“This is a car I want to be able to hand down to my children, just because this is like my first car, it ended up being everything I wanted and I still love it, even 5 years later,” said Graham.

Graham is apart of a club called Right To Tune and says it’s important for him to learn from other car enthusiasts who enjoy modifying and maintaining their vehicles.

“It’s just general community, people are nine times out of ten really awesome, and it’s just really friendly, really fun, and we’re able to respect each other and just have good conversation about really anything under the sun, from cars, to life, you name it,” said Graham.

If you want to join in the fun, Pollard is hosting a Trunk or Treat event next weekend and will continue to hold Cars & Coffee events every other month.
