City Invites Community to Share Insights on Transportation Safety – The Boca Raton Tribune

Boca Raton, FL – The City of Boca Raton is excited to announce a public input session in support of its Vision Zero initiative, a comprehensive effort to eliminate traffic fatalities and severe injuries in Boca Raton, while ensuring safe, accessible transportation for all. The session will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Boca Raton Community Center Annex Building, located at 260 Crawford Blvd.

Palmetto Park Road

This event offers City residents and businesses an opportunity to engage with City Transportation and Mobility staff and representatives from the City’s consultant, Kimley-Horn, to learn more about the Vision Zero Action Plan. The plan will use a data-driven approach to enhance street safety throughout Boca Raton.

At the meeting, the community will:

  • Hear an overview of the Vision Zero initiative and its goals.
  • Review trends identified through a preliminary analysis of local crash data.
  • Provide direct input on traffic safety concerns by completing a public survey.

Community input is an important part of the process and vital to the success of this initiative. Attendees will have a chance to voice their concerns about transportation safety and share ideas on how to create safer streets in Boca Raton. The feedback collected during this session, along with responses from the public survey, will be used to guide the City’s efforts in creating safer roads for all who live, work, and visit Boca Raton.

“We are excited to make Vision Zero a reality in Boca Raton,” commented City of Boca Raton Deputy Mayor Yvette Drucker. “This community has a common goal of making our streets the safest in the nation while reducing congestion at the same time, and it’s exciting to be leading the way on this.”
