TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Toledo man said he’s disappointed over the city of Toledo’s leaf pick-up program.
The man said he was given a ticket for not moving his car and claims there’s just one sign in the neighborhood.
“With there not being no signs, how are you supposed to be notified as a resident of a neighborhood? It’s pretty upsetting,” said Gregory Schaffer.
Gregory Schaffer wants the City of Toledo to review its leaf pick-up program.
Schaffer said he was written a $25 ticket Wednesday during leaf collection.
He said there’s only one sign to alert residents.
“I walked all the way down to the corner down there. I walked back up this way, even walked around the corner down here. There’s literally no signs nowhere,” Schaffer said.
There is only one sign on Willard and it’s blocks away near Starr Avenue.
13 Action News drove the neighborhood looking for signs but only found two signs.
Schaffer said in the past the city would put up numerous signs.
“I would notice there would be tons of signs out for fall pick up. This year they didn’t do that. They failed to put the signs out to notify the residents. If you’re not going to do your job the right way that you’re supposed to, why should this ticket be valid? I shouldn’t be written the ticket if you’re not going to notify the residents that live in the block,” said Schaffer.
A city spokesperson said they are looking into the man’s concerns.
