Cost effective cars: Which models will give you the most bang for your buck? – Turn to 10

Looking for a car that won’t break the bank?

Driver’s education company Zutobi recently crunched the numbers – looking at metrics like fuel efficiency, insurance costs, and replacement parts.

Probably no surprise, the smaller cars came out on top.

“Smaller cars are generally cheaper to maintain because they consume less fuel – reducing yearly gas costs,” says Zutobi spokesperson Hanna Mishchenko. “They often have lower insurance premiums as repairs and replacement parts are typically more affordable.”

Zutobi reports that the cheapest gas-powered vehicles are:

  1. Honda Fit
  2. Hyundai Accent
  3. Toyota Yaris

Electric vehicles offering even more annual savings include:

  1. Hyundai Kona Electric
  2. Chevy Blazer EV
  3. Chevy Bolt EUV

But not every electric vehicle is cheap.

Zutobi found several Tesla models cost almost as much as some of the most expensive gas-powered vehicles.

The most expensive electric vehicles:

  1. Tesla Roadster
  2. Tesla Cybertruck
  3. Audi e-Tron

Most expensive gas-powered vehicles:

  1. Ford F150 Raptor
  2. Infiniti Q50
  3. GMC Sierra

Zubtobi ranked the top 25 least expensive and most expensive cars in each category. You can find the full list here.
