Did you ever want a smartphone for your pet? Well, here it is!

MWC is going on right now, and we’re seeing some interesting and innovative tech being announced. Many of the devices present make it easier to communicate with other human beings. Well, how about your cat? At MWC, GlocalMe just announced the new PetPhone.

Among the devices at the event, this might be the most interesting. Obviously, this isn’t a typical smartphone with a collection of apps like games and internet browsers- you don’t want to know what your dog gets up to on the internet. Rather, this is a simple communicator that allows for two-way communication with your pet from a distance.

GlocalMe announces the PetPhone at MWC

This is something that pet lovers who travel a lot will love. The PetPhone is a small device that you put around your pet’s neck just like a collar. So, if your pet utters a sound, it will be able to pick it up.

The thing is that animals utter different sounds depending on their mood. It’s like how human beings have different tones of voice depending on our emotion. So, if you’re familiar with the different sounds, you’ll be able to know if your pet is upset, in trouble, hungry, or making deals with dangerous people. When you hear your pet, you’ll be able to act.

This is a two-way communicator, so you’ll be able to talk back to your pet. While that sounds odd, you’ll be able to comfort your pet if they get lonely. Say, you have to travel or just go to work, and your pet misses you. You can speak to them to calm them down.

Using AI, the GlocalMe PetPhone will be able to initiate a call by performing certain gestures. So, you might receive calls from your pet every now and then.

Just like any smartphone, the PetPhone comes with a bevy of tracking technologies so you can pinpoint your pet if they get lost. It comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. So, losing your pet will be a thing of the past. Right now, we don’t know the price or availability of this device.
