Sales of electric cars in Germany are expected to increase significantly again in 2025, the weekly magazine “Der Spiegel” reported, citing a study by Matthias schmidt, founder of the German-British research institute Schmidt Automotive Research.
“Many leasing contracts concluded in 2023, the year of the electric car boom, will expire in 2025. This particularly affects company cars and fleets, which make up a large part of the electric car market. Corporate customers will tend to switch to electric vehicles again when signing new contracts to reduce CO2 emissions and costs in the long term. In Germany, electric company cars also benefit from tax advantages compared to those with combustion engines,” the study says.
