A fire broke out at Muhak Girls’ High School in Haengdang-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, and the fire authorities extinguished it in about two hours.

According to the fire authorities on the 15th, a fire broke out at 1:29 p.m. at Muhak Girls’ High School and black smoke was rising. The building on fire was a four-story annex of the restaurant building with a cafeteria.

The fire authorities issued the first stage of response at 1:38, nine minutes after the report, in which all firefighters from the competent fire station were dispatched. I put out a big fire at 3:14 and put out the fire completely at 3:50, about two hours later. 108 firefighters and 30 vehicles were deployed to extinguish the fire.

There were no casualties such as students and faculty during the spring vacation.

The fire destroyed part of the restaurant building, and nine of the 11 vehicles in the parking lot on the first floor were burned and the other two were partially burned.

Fire authorities believe the fire started in a car in a parking lot. Electric cars were parked in the parking lot, raising suspicions of ignition, but on-site confirmation confirmed that it was not true.

Seongdong-gu District Office sent a safety notice and asked, “We are controlling access, so residents and vehicles should be bypassed, and the windows should be closed due to heavy smoke.” Jung Won-oh, the head of the district office, also came to the scene of the fire and ordered to watch the situation and determine whether it was damaged.

Police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire. So far, the criminal charges have been found to be low.
