This is the Nothing Phone 3a series, which consists of the Nothing 3a and the Nothing Phone 3a Pro. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of Nothing’s upcoming Android phones, however, it is the first time the design has leaked completely. Android Headlines has exclusively obtained a ton of images of each device model.
As you can see from the images below, you get a look at each version from several angles. Some of the images also showcase parts of the UI. Additionally, these images provide a clear picture of the design details thanks to the high resolution of the images. Nothing has confirmed a launch event for new products for the date of March 4, so that’s when you can expect to see these devices officially. We initially shared those details exclusively back at the end of January.
We also exclusively shared more details about these devices earlier this week. In that report, it was stated that the main difference between both models is the camera. That has now been confirmed based on the info we’ve seen. All other parts of the design appear to be the same. There are some differences regarding the specs, however, which we have also obtained details on.
The Nothing Phone 3a series is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3
As per the specs that were leaked in our earlier report, the Nothing Phone 3a and the Nothing Phone 3a Pro will both be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. In terms of RAM and storage, Nothing is offering two variants for the Nothing Phone 3a. You can get this model with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. When it comes to the Nothing Phone 3a Pro, Nothing is only offering one option here. 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The camera is another difference between the two phones. That being said, the camera specs are largely the same with only a few changes. They both come with three camera sensors on the back, for example. On top of that, they’re both featuring a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto lens. The difference between the two phones with these rear camera sensors lies with the telephoto lens.
On the Pro model, the optical zoom is 3x and the digital zoom is 60x. Whereas on the non-Pro model, the optical zoom is 2x and the digital zoom is 30x. There’s also a difference in the front cameras. The Nothing Phone 3a has a 32MP sensor on the front whereas the Nothing Phone 3a Pro has a 50MP sensor on the front. So you can probably expect slightly nicer selfies. By the looks of it, all other specs are the same. This includes the 5,000mAh capacity battery, the 6.77-inch 120Hz display, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4 support.
Both phones are basically the same size as well. According to the spec sheet we saw, the dimensions for the Nothing Phone 3a are 163.52mm x 77.5mm x 8.35mm, and it weighs 201g. The dimensions and weight are slightly different for the Nothing Phone 3a Pro, measuring 163.52mm x 77.5mm x 8.39mm with a weight of 211g. Both phones also come with Android 15 out of the box.
You can expect a fully charged battery in 56 minutes
While the battery in any phone can be an important part of the device, another important factor is how quickly it can charge up. It doesn’t seem like the Nothing Phone 3a series will disappoint in this area.
According to the spec sheet we’ve seen, the Nothing Phone 3a and Nothing Phone 3a Pro will both charge up to full in 56 minutes. Additionally, you can expect a 50% charge in just 19 minutes. We imagine this is based on internal testing done in Nothing’s labs. So real-world times may vary. Either way, it’s still pretty fast, though not the fastest charge we’ve experienced based on testing of other phones.
The specs also reveal that the displays on both phones are protected by Panda Glass. They also use a flexible AMOLED LTPS panel with a 387 ppi. The resolution of the displays is also FHD+, as we exclusively reported last month. A new piece of info that we’ve received concerns the display brightness. According to the specs, the displays will have a peak brightness of 3,000 nits and an exterior brightness of 1,300 nits. In other words, the displays should be plenty bright in direct sunlight.
We still don’t have information on pricing. However, the Nothing Phone 2a was $349 at launch while the Nothing 2a Plus was $399. So there is a chance Nothing could stick to these prices. It also wouldn’t be surprising if the prices increased just a little.
