Exclusive: This is the Motorola ThinkPhone 2025 with MediaTek's Dimensity 7300

Last year, Motorola introduced a rather interesting device, aimed at businesses. That was the Motorola ThinkPhone, using one of Lenovo’s most popular brands – ThinkPad – and bringing it to their phone lineup. Many thought the ThinkPhone was one-and-done since we did not get a new model this year, but that’s not true. We can confirm that there is a Motorola ThinkPhone 2025 on the way. And we have every spec you need to know about it.

The Motorola ThinkPhone 2025 will sport a 6.36-inch pOLED display, this will be an LTPO display, adaptively changing its refresh rate up to 120Hz. With a resolution of 2670 x 1200, giving you a pixel density of 460ppi.

For 2025, the ThinkPhone is going to shrink a bit, dropping from a 6.6-inch display, and that also means the battery is shrinking. Going from a 5,000mAh capacity battery down to a 4,310mAh. It will also be noticeably smaller, physically. With dimensions of 154.1 x 71.2 x 8.1mm it’ll weigh just 171g.

Internally, the ThinkPhone 2025 will be sporting the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of storage on-board. Unlike the original ThinkPhone, this new model will only come with one RAM/Storage variant. And as mentioned, it does have a 4310mAh capacity battery powering the phone. Motorola is supporting 68W charging on this phone, which should provide for some very quick charging times here.

The best part? Motorola’s 68W TurboPower Charger is included in the box. Which is somewhat odd, since Motorola doesn’t include a charger in the box with any other phone these days.

ThinkPhone 2025 ditches the depth camera for a 3x optical zoom lens

On another note, there’s some good news for the cameras on the new ThinkPhone 2025. While Motorola is sticking with the 50-megapixel primary camera and a 13-megapixel ultrawide, it is ditching the 2-megapixel depth sensor from the original model. And instead, using a 10-megapixel 3x optical zoom sensor. That should make for a very versatile camera setup on the ThinkPhone 2025. But it’s likely not the best camera setup. Motorola has never been the best in terms of cameras, but they have been improving quite a bit over the years.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a ThinkPhone without some durability. The ThinkPhone 2025 will have Gorilla Glass 7i. This is a newer, tougher glass that is made specifically for mid-rangers like the ThinkPhone 2025. It also is UP68 rated for underwater protection and of course has MIL-STD-810H certification. Making this a pretty rugged phone. It also does have that carbon fiber back that looks pretty amazing too.
