FCC shows that the Pixel 9a will have this flagship feature

The next superstar in the Pixel phone lineup is the Pixel 9a. It’ll be Google’s latest mid-range phone, and it will be the first modern-day A-series phone not to reflect the design of its flagship siblings. We’re hungry for details about this phone, and thanks to this next report, it looks like we’re about to get some. The Pixel 9a just stopped by the FCC.

When it comes to Google’s Pixel phone leaks, there’s no doubt that we’ll know the Pixel 9a inside and out before it launches. For example, months before this phone’s announcement, we already know what it looks like. We exclusively leaked the Pixel 9a in all of its colors. In the leaks, we see that Google has gone for a completely flush design for this phone, which makes it seem much less like a Pixel device. In any case, it doesn’t look half bad.

The Pixel 9a receives FCC certification

If a phone wants to make it into the States, it will need to receive FCC certification. When a device passes over the FCC’s desk, we get just a few details about it. While it’s far from a spec sheet, the FCC listing does give us a little insight into how the Pixel 9a will communicate with the world. For starters, it reveals that the device will support Wi-Fi 6E. That’s good news for people who will want high-speed internet.

The more significant detail revealed is that the Pixel 9a will support satellite communication. That’s pretty big, as this functionality is still making it to more devices. When the Pixel 9a launches, it will be one of the cheapest phones with satellite connectivity.

In the FCC listing, we see two different model numbers for this phone: GTF7P and G3Y12. Previously, the model number GXQ96 was discovered. Other than that, there weren’t any other significant details about the Pixel 9a. All we know is that Google might announce this phone sooner rather than later. The FCC filing came up on February 7th, so the official launch shouldn’t be too far away.
