If you are a FuboTV user, this news might upset you a little. Fubo has become the latest live TV streaming service to announce a price increase on most of its monthly plans. It now joins the likes of YouTube TV and Netflix, which recently raised the price of their streaming plans. Interestingly, the latest price hike came just weeks after Disney announced a surprise merger between Hulu + Live TV and Fubo.
Fubo increases the monthly price of all its English-language plans by $5
So, what does the new pricing look like across all the Fubo plans? With a $5 per month price hike, Fubo’s most affordable “Essential plan” now costs $84.99, making it costlier than the $82.99 per month YouTube TV plan.
The same goes for the Fubo’s Pro and Elite plans; they now cost $84.99 and $94.99, respectively. Since the Pro and Elite plans require the regional sports fee of around $15 per month, existing customers will have their monthly bills exceed $100 (exclusive of taxes and other fees).
On the other hand, the price of the Latino plan, which features Spanish content, will remain the same at $32.99 per month. A Fubo spokesperson told The Streamable that the price increase is due to “rising costs from our programming partners.”
New customers can save a few bucks with limited-time discounts on all plans
Fubo is also offering massive discounts for new customers across all its plans. The Essential plan is available for new subscribers for just $60 in the first month. Well, that’s a $25 discount on the updated pricing.
Those looking to subscribe to the Pro and Elite plans will get $20 off, bringing their respective price down to $65 and $75 for the first month. Do note that new customers will have to pay the regional sports fees. Although the Latino plan doesn’t see any price hike, Fubo is still offering an $8 discount for new customers.
