Some great news for Samsung users out there. With One UI 7, the popular Galaxy AI writing tools aren’t limited to just the Samsung Keyboard – as was the case on One UI 6.
This is great news, because Samsung’s Keyboard has been well documented as being terrible. But now with One UI 7, you are able to still use the writing tools with another keyboard like Gboard.
With a keyboard like Gboard, it’s not quite the same experience. Instead of having an icon in the toolbar of the keyboard, you instead need to highlight the text, and then you’ll see a Galaxy AI icon on the left. This will allow you to use different writing tools like spelling and grammar, writing style, summarize, and more. This is actually a really good way to implement this feature, instead of keeping it tied to the Samsung Keyboard. Hopefully Samsung will improve with One UI 8.
Galaxy AI’s writing tools are some of the best on the market
When it comes to adding AI features, the most popular things are writing tools. Allowing AI to check your spelling and grammar, reword what you wrote, or even compose a message or email for you. And to be quite honest, Samsung has done a great job with this. I’ve used similar features on iOS and as well as Google’s Pixel Experience, and Galaxy AI has performed the best for me. Of course, everyone’s mileage will vary here.
If you haven’t used any of the writing tools, you really should give it a try. It’s one of the few AI features that actually works well, and doesn’t get in the way, making your life easier actually.
Of course, there’s loads of other Galaxy AI features available on One UI 7 with the Galaxy S25 and other recent Samsung phones.
