Galaxy F06 5G is official: Samsung's most affordable 5G phone

Samsung does not offer affordable phones and tablets solely through its Galaxy A lineup. The company also has other device families, like the Galaxy F and Galaxy M, though limited to certain regions. Today, Samsung has launched the Galaxy F06 5G in India as its latest, most affordable 5G smartphone.

The spec sheet of the Galaxy F06 5G is highly inspired by last year’s Galaxy A06. However, the company has implemented a new chipset that is not only more powerful but also enables 5G support.

Samsung Galaxy F06 5G key specs

The new Galaxy F06 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC. According to Samsung, the chip achieves Antutu scores of 416k+, which is quite decent for a phone in its price range. The built-in modem offers full support for all twelve 5G bands used in India. So, potential buyers shouldn’t have any issues when trying to use the faster mobile networks.

Samsung has also tweaked a few things on the Galaxy F06 5G design. Last year’s Galaxy A06 adopted a minimalist look with a similar appearance to the more expensive Galaxy models. That is, a rear camera module where the sensors are arranged vertically and separately from each other. Well, the Galaxy F06 5G integrates a vertical glass camera island that covers its two sensors. The finish of the rear cover of the device is also different, imitating the waves of the sea.

On the front, both devices are identical. There’s a screen with a water-drop notch and a fat bottom bezel or “chin.” The similarities continue to appear when checking the tech specs sheet. You’ll find a 60Hz HD+ PLS LCD display, 50 MP + 2 MP rear cameras, an 8 MP selfie camera, a single speaker, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W wired charging support.

As for software, the phone runs Android 14-based One UI Core out of the box. The device will receive up to four years of big OS updates and security patches.

Price and availability

The Samsung Galaxy F06 5G will be available in India starting February 20. There are two storage variants: 4/128 GB for INR 9,499 ($109) and 6/128 for INR 10,999 ($126). Buyers will be able to choose between Bahama Blue and Lit Violet colorways.

In related news, the Galaxy S25 series is already reaching many of its buyers. As expected, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is proving to be the most popular model in the lineup.
