Galaxy S24 series getting a second November 2024 patch

Samsung seems to be struggling a bit in recent months when it comes to updates for its mobile devices. The company had a lot of pending work between the rollout of One UI 6.1.1 and the development of One UI 7. Now, Samsung is sending out a second November update for the Galaxy S24 series, instead of rolling out the December patch.

Like the previous update, the second November patch does not include any new features. It focuses on the classic security fixes, performance optimizations, bug fixes, and stability improvements. This is the “copy-paste” that usually appears in security updates that do not include any major changes. However, it is curious that the company is sending out an unexpected second November security patch.

The update is available first in Europe for users of the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. The new firmware has build numbers S921BXXU4AXK4, S926BXXU4AXK4, and S928BXXU4AXK4, respectively.

Galaxy S24 second November 2024 update

Currently, there is no word on any critical or security issues affecting the brand’s latest mobile flagships, as happened a few weeks ago with older Exynos-powered devices. So, it’s possible that the second November update is actually a patch that paves the way and makes some behind-the-scenes tweaks for the future arrival of Android 15. Anyway, there’s still at least the December update to go before that.

Regarding the Android 15-based One UI 7 beta, there’s still no specific date for the program’s opening. A few weeks ago, Samsung confirmed that the beta will be available before 2025. According to leaks, Samsung could open enrollments during the second week of December. The company will release the first stable version alongside the Galaxy S25 series in January next year.

It is still surprising that Samsung is experiencing these delays in terms of sending updates. The company has built a reputation as one of the best when it comes to software support. According to reports, the reason for the delay is the profound changes that One UI 7 is undergoing. However, users may have to wait even longer to enjoy the best new features. Tipsters have revealed that they will arrive in One UI 7.1, while One UI 7 will focus on aesthetic changes.
