The Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung’s upcoming super-slim phone, will have a tiny battery, it seems. The phone’s charging speed was also revealed via China’s 3C certification.
The device was spotted on the site with a SM-S9370 model number. It will support 25W wired charging, based on what was revealed. That will match what the vanilla Galaxy S25 model has to offer.
The Galaxy S25 Edge will have a tiny battery, and not exactly fast charging
When it comes to the battery, it will be a 3,900mAh unit, reports Abhishek Yadav, based on the listing in the China Quality Certification (CQC) database. The rated capacity is 3,786mAh, but it will be advertised as a 3,900mAh battery.
Needless to say, that’s quite small. The Galaxy S25 with a 6.2-inch display has a 4,000mAh unit, and compared to some of the competition, that’s also very small, despite the display size.
Earlier rumors suggested that the phone would feature a 4,700-5,000mAh battery, which seems to be completely inaccurate. The device is reported to be around 6mm thick, and Samsung seemingly won’t use a silicon-carbon battery, which explains the size.
Its display size remains a mystery
We still don’t know how large the display will be on the device, though. However, if it ends up being the size of the Galaxy S25+’s panel (6.7 inches), that battery won’t get you very far. The charging is also not particularly fast, not even for a battery of that size.
As a reminder, the Galaxy S25 Edge is the official name for the rumored Galaxy S25 Slim phone. Samsung announced that name during the first Unpacked event of the year, a couple of days ago. The company also showed us the design of the device itself.
The phone will launch “around” April, it was confirmed by the company’s representative. We still don’t know when exactly, though.
