Based on the latest rumor, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could deliver a major battery capacity increase. Based on the latest report from Korea, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could end up utilizing a 7,000mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could get a major battery capacity increase
The only way that Samsung can make that happen is by utilizing silicon-carbon batteries. Many companies have done so already, including HONOR, OPPO, ZTE, and others. So… it’s not out of the question, as some phones already beat that number.
The RedMagic 10 Pro, for example, the device that we’ve reviewed not long ago, includes a 7,050mAh battery. It’s about the size of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, so it’s definitely doable. The only question is whether Samsung wants to do it, as the company has been working on silicon-carbon batteries for a while.
The thing is, a tipster quickly reacted to the news, PandaFlash. He said that he’ll delete his X account if the Galaxy S26 Ultra ends up having a 7,000mAh battery, or even a 6,000mAh battery. He said that Samsung did not cross the 5,500mAh capacity during testing, based on “five sources”.
Battery capacities are said to increase even more in 2025. It seems about time for Samsung to adopt silicon-carbon batteries, and include them in its upcoming Galaxy S smartphones in early 2026. The company could opt to do that with the ‘Ultra’ model only, but chances are that all three phones will get the upgrade.
The other two phones are also tipped to adopt silicon-carbon batteries
The report claims that the ‘Galaxy S26 series’ could get battery capacities between ‘6,000mAh and 7,000mAh’. PandaFlash obviously disagrees with that, though, and knowing Samsung, it’s not that likely to happen.
The company’s new flagships, the Galaxy S25 series, utilize Li-Ion batteries. The Galaxy S25 is the smallest in the series, and it has a 4,000mAh unit. Samsung’s ‘Plus’ model has a 4,900mAh battery, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra features a 5,000mAh battery.
Considering what the competition delivers, this doesn’t seem all that impressive. Do note that all three phones have shown great battery life in our tests, though, as you can see in their respective reviews.
